This section is here for those of you who are contributing to the Local Government Pension Scheme.

Amongst other things, it explains the cost of the scheme, how pension benefits are calculated as well as the various ways in which benefits can be increased / topped up.

It also explains about transferring previous periods of service / previous pensions into the scheme and the various time limits to do so.

During scheme membership, you may change your working arrangements, have periods of absence or worst case scenario, you could die. These scenarios are covered for you in this section.
